Legendary actor Michael Lerner has passed away at the age of 81. Michael’s son Sam Lerner announced the sad news via his social media.

Michael Lerner has appeared in numerous movies, TV shows, and stage productions. He was born on June 22, 1941, in Brooklyn, New York, USA.

Lerner began his acting career in the 1960s and 1970s, appearing in small roles in movies and TV shows. However, he gained recognition for his role as the unscrupulous studio boss, Jack Lipnick, in the Coen brothers’ 1991 film “Barton Fink”. Lerner’s performance earned him critical acclaim and a nomination for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Apart from “Barton Fink,” Lerner has also appeared in several other popular movies, including “Elf,” “Godzilla,” “Man on the Moon,” “Eight Men Out,” and “X-Men: Days of Future Past.” In addition, he has appeared in TV shows like “Law & Order,” “The West Wing,” “The Practice,” and “Chicago Hope.”

Lerner has also had an extensive career in the theatre, both as an actor and director. He has appeared in numerous Broadway productions, including “Angels in America,” “The Sisters Rosensweig,” and “Laughter on the 23rd Floor.”

Michael Lerner was a talented actor with a career spanning over five decades.
