The Alien franchise is making a comeback next year with the release of a new sequel – now with the original director’s seal of approval – and we’re pretty excited.

A nostalgic journey into the heart-pounding terror of the original Alien films, Fede Álvarez’s Alien: Romulus will tell a new story within the Alien universe after the film franchise came to a halt following Ridley Scott‘s prequel films Prometheus (2012) and Alien: Covenant (2017).

In an unexpected twist in an era of endless remakes and reboots, Scott himself praised Álvarez’s work, calling the upcoming film “f—ing great,” and cementing its connection to the iconic franchise.

With a fresh cast and a distant, ominous world as the backdrop, Alien: Romulus promises to reignite the spine-chilling thrills that made the iconic 80s sci-fi franchise a cinematic legend.
