A nostalgic slice of movie magic is landing in Collingwood this August, with the launch of Eclipse Cinema, a 64-seat boutique cinema tucked inside an old Collingwood football factory on Wellington Street.

Named after an early 20th-century silent cinema that once stood at 20 Smith Street in the early 1900s, the new Eclipse is the brainchild of Mark Walker, co-founder of Geelong’s beloved Pivotonian Cinema.

The venue promises a mix of new releases, indie gems, and a healthy dose of retro flicks, the kinds of films Walker says “might not make any money, but need to be seen on screen.”

The old-school vibes don’t stop at the projector. Expect classic movie snacks like popcorn, homemade choc tops, and even a glass of wine to elevate your silver-screen escape.

Whether you’re chasing a hidden indie treasure or a nostalgic favourite, Eclipse Cinema is set to light up Collingwood from late August at 32 Wellington Street.
