Beauty giant MECCA has opened its new three-storey flagship on Bourke Street, and our very own Patsy dropped in to see what it had to offer. Spoiler alert: it’s a lot.

Around 20,000 people were expected at the grand opening, with some customers lining up as early as 4am. Patsy confirmed, “It was pandemonium.”

“It really was like Beatlemania. You could not walk. There were people like ants everywhere on three levels of Mecca.”

Joined by her daughter, Audrey, Patsy kept their visit to about 90 minutes. And no, that’s not excessive.
“It’s not just makeup,” she explained. “They do acupuncture, they do ear piercings, there’s a florist in there.
There’s a cafe there. There’s a spa there… you can go and get facials and stuff. There’s a hairdresser there. They have thought of every single thing.”

One word to sum up the experience?

“Incredible!” says Patsy.

You don’t have to tell us twice… we’ll be at the spa if anyone needs anything.
