Budget airline Bonza has caught passengers off guard by cancelling flights amidst discussions about the company’s future viability.

Chief executive Tim Jordan announced the temporary suspension of flights, citing ongoing talks regarding the business’s sustainability.

“We apologise to our impacted customers and are swiftly exploring options to ensure continued competition in the Australian domestic aviation market,”

Mr Jordan stated on Tuesday. Bonza, Sunshine-based, commenced operations in January 2023, serving 27 routes across 17 destinations.

However, it began trimming routes within its first six months of operation.
