You might have to shout to get our attention, we can’t hear you over the crunch of Macca’s brand new McCrispy and McCrispy Deluxe, which officially hit menus today.

The McCrispy first dropped in 2023, but some fans weren’t entirely convinced it lived up to its name. The verdict? Not quite crispy enough.

Fast forward to 2025, and Macca’s has gone back to the kitchen to level up the crunch factor, and Aussies are set to reap the rewards.

To make sure they nailed it, Macca’s surveyed the nation to find out what we really want in a chicken burger. Nearly half (46%) said it’s all about that crispy coating, while 24% prioritised juicy chicken, and 8% cared most about the sauce. So the new McCrispy-er recipe has ticked all those boxes — and then some.

What can you expect? A 100% Aussie, RSPCA Approved chicken breast fillet, now juicier with a crunchier fried coating, layered with fresh lettuce, creamy ranch sauce and served on a soft, pillowy toasted bun.

And if you’re the “go big or go home” type, the McCrispy Deluxe has you covered, with the addition of ripe tomato and Aussie Jack cheese for a little extra oomph.

Amanda Nakad, Marketing Director of Menu and Brand for McDonald’s Australia, says the upgrade was all about giving Aussies what they’ve been craving:

“Aussies have always loved a good chicken burger, but the new McCrispy takes it to another level. We’ve dialled up the crunch, elevated the flavour, and created a burger that’s everything Aussies love – just even better.”
