There aren’t too many bands that all rock fans can agree on, but Foo Fighters are probably the closest thing we have. Show us a person who doesn’t love Dave Grohl, and we’ll show you a damn liar!

So when Foo Fighters announce that they’re coming to Australia, just about everybody is excited by the news. And it’s even more exciting if the announcement is for a show that is literally happening next week.

But it’s not the type of tour you might expect from the Rock & Roll Hall Of Famers. The band has announced that their upcoming Aussie tour will include one, solitary date.

And what’s more, the show will not be happening in your to-be-expected Sydneys or Melbournes. It’s happening next Friday night in Geelong.

The show is part of a celebration of Victoria’s reputation as the live music capital of Australia, following two years of a near-crippled music scene in the state thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic and its ongoing restrictions.

The announcement was part of the Victorian Government’s ALWAYS LIVE music event, with the rock royalty joined at GMHBA Stadium by Melburnian pub rock/punks Amyl & The Sniffers and Melbourne punk icons The Meanies.

Tickets for the show go on sale via Frontier Touring on Friday 25th February at 12pm AEDT and are expected to be snapped up quickly.
