CBS has announced that they will re-air the Billy Joel: The 100th – Live at Madison Square Garden special in full this Friday, April 19, following some technical difficulties during Sunday’s broadcast. The singer’s signature hit “Piano Man” was cut off prematurely due to a network programming error, leaving viewers in the Eastern and Central Time Zones disappointed.

In response to the overwhelming demand from fans, CBS apologised for the interruption and confirmed the special’s complete rebroadcast. The initial broadcast was delayed by the 2024 Masters Tournament coverage and faced criticism for excessive commercials and an untimely transition to local news.

Expressing outrage on social media, fans lamented the missed opportunity to witness Joel’s historic performance uninterrupted. Barstool Sports highlighted the absurdity of cutting off “Piano Man” midway through, amplifying the discontent among viewers.

Recorded at Madison Square Garden on March 28 to commemorate Joel’s 100th and final residency show, the concert special can also be streamed in its entirety on Paramount+.
