Charlie Sheen is back in the spotlight promoting his upcoming memoir ‘The Book of Sheen’ and his Netflix documentary ‘aka Charlie Sheen’, where he reflects on his strained relationship with former Two and a Half Men co-star, Jon Cryer.

Cryer appears in the documentary to speak about Sheen’s turbulent career and its impact on their hit sitcom, which ran for eight years before Sheen was fired and written out following his public feud with creator Chuck Lorre.

Last year Cryer admitted he was still bitter the show “fell apart” because of Sheen’s struggles. In a new interview, Sheen confirmed they remain estranged, despite Cryer’s involvement in the doco.

“When I saw everything that Jon spoke about [in the documentary], so honestly and very compassionately, I wrote to him and I said, ‘Hey, thank you for your contributions, and I’m sorry we didn’t connect personally. I hope to see you around the campus,’” Sheen said.

He never heard back, but suspects he has the wrong number and is open to Jon reaching out. “It’s not like Jon did not respond. He’s super responsible like that. So if you’re reading this, Jon, DM me your new number.”

Now eight years sober, Sheen says he understands why Cryer kept his distance.

“He was in the line of fire with all that stupid s**t going on, and it was affecting him and his family and his career and all that. I can’t debate anything that he said [in the doco].”
