Billie Eilish is proving she’s not just topping charts, she’s giving back in a big way. The 23-year-old star is wrapping up her Hit Me Hard and Soft world tour and donating $11.5 million from it to organizations tackling food insecurity, climate justice, and carbon reduction.
Stephen Colbert announced the news while presenting Eilish with Wall Street Journal Magazine’s Music Innovator of the Year award in New York.
Whilst accepting the award, Eilish didn’t shy away from addressing the wealthy crowd, including Mark Zuckerberg, with a pointed message: “We’re in a time right now when the world is really, really bad and really dark. People need empathy and help more than ever… If you have money, it would be great to use it for good things and maybe give it to some people that need it.”
She added: “Love you all, but there’s a few people in here who have a lot more money than me. If you’re a billionaire, why are you a billionaire? No hate, but yeah, give your money away.”
We’re here for it, Billie!
