Please help Melbourne’s most vulnerable children.
There are children in our community who desperately need our help.
Over 10,000 children here in Melbourne who’ve been removed from unsafe homes for their protection will go without even the basics.
When these vulnerable children are taken into care – often with nothing but the clothes on their backs – an amazing charity we support, Backpacks4VicKids, steps in with something precious: dignity. They provide each child with a backpack filled with essential items like toiletries, clothing, comfort items, and age-appropriate toys. It’s often the first thing these frightened children can truly call their own.
The numbers are staggering and heartbreaking. I’m grateful to have this platform with our show, and we’re doing everything we can to raise funds for as many children as possible. I’m asking you again to please help, and I mean help these children.
We’ve proudly supported Backpacks4VicKids for years, and thanks to our generous listeners, we’ve raised over $400,000. But those resources have been exhausted, and without immediate help, this vital charity faces collapse. I can guarantee you this: there’s no wastage here. Every dollar you donate goes directly to helping these children.
The situation is critical. Too many families haven’t found stable ground since the pandemic, and with rising interest rates and cost of living pressures, some families have reached breaking point. The demand for these emergency backpacks has never been higher, but the charity simply cannot meet it alone.
These children have already endured trauma no child should face. Let’s give them at least one gift to show them they matter – that our community cares. Because we absolutely do.
