YouTuber, Brooke Houts, is being slammed for accidentally uploading an unedited video where she hits and spits on her pet dog.
The 20-year-old is now facing animal cruelty accusations after her aggressive handling of her Doberman dog, named Sphinx.
Twitter user @shoe0nhead shared the footage, condemning Houts for her behaviour, and pointing out that “she was filming a high energy fun video where she plays with the dog, therefore the dog naturally thought it was playtime”.

Houts immediately deleted the video, and has taken to Twitter to issue an apology.
She wrote: “On the day in particular that the video was filmed, and actually this past week, things in my outside life have been less than exceptional. I am not going to play the ‘victim card’ or anything of that sort, but I do want to point out that I am rarely as upset as what was shown in the footage… That being said, this does NOT justify me yelling at my dog in the way that I did, and I’m fully aware of that.”
She added, “Should I have gotten as angry as I did in the video? No. Should I have raised my voice and yelled at him? No. However, when my 75 lb. Doberman is jumping up in my face with his mouth open, I do, as a dog parent, have to show him that this behaviour is unacceptable.”

Regardless of the 20-year-old’s apology, we believe any sort of abuse towards animals is unacceptable.
TMZ reports that LAPD’s Animal Cruelty unit is aware of the video and is investigating the case.
