We may think Victoria’s law enforcement will be harsh, but on the other side of the country, it will be a lot of intrusive.
Western Australia Police have announced that drones will hover above those who gather in groups, warning them of social distancing.
In a press conference on Monday afternoon, it was announced that police will deploy drones to disperse groups by broadcasting restriction rules.
“These drones will be highly visible,” Mr McGowan said.
“With flashing lights and speakers, similar to those on police vehicles and will be able to deliver a message to a range of up to a kilometre from their launch.”
He said the drones will be used at places like beaches and parks where people aren’t adhering to social distancing rules.
“Their primary objective is to reinforce the serious nature of the environment that we’re in.”
