A woman is in a critical condition after she was rescued from a house fire in Melbourne’s southeast.

According to reports, the woman called emergency services, and become overwhelmed with smoke in her bathroom before passing out on the call.

Paramedics and firefighters attended the blaze on Macrina Street at Oakleigh East at about 4.50am on Wednesday, and treated the woman for burns before she was taken to The Alfred in a critical condition.

A man suffered smoke inhalation and was taken to hospital, while a second male was also taken to hospital in a stable condition.
