Melbourne has had an usually long period of humid weather over the last few days and it doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere for a while.

The weather, which is being dragged down from Queensland, which has had large storms (bringing moisture to the air) and is now preparing for a cyclone. The first two events combined with a northerly wind are pushing the prolonged humidity into Melbourne.

It doesn’t look like Melbourne will get any respite until the end of next week.

The recent rain that has lashed New South Wales is not expected to hit Victoria.

Some severe thunderstorms were predicted for  Thursday, causing a weather warning which has since been cancelled.
