We’ve all had our suspicions, but have you ever wondered exactly where the priciest homes are in Melbourne?

Domain has done some digging and revealed that although house prices are generally falling in Melbourne (and Sydney) there are still some VERY expensive suburbs.

It probably comes as little surprise that Toorak has taken out the top spot with an eye-watering median price of $3.1 million.

Up next is Middle Park ($2.74 million), Brighton ($2.3 million), Malvern ($2.3 million) and Balwyn ($2.25 million).

If, like us, these suburbs are out of your price range, they reckon you can find better value in South Yarra ($1.482 million), Hampton ($1.8 million) or Mont Albert ($1.89 million).
