Two men are fighting for their life after a car accident ripped a tree out of the ground in Boronia.
The 51-year-old driver and the 31-year-old passenger from The Basin are at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a critical condition.
The accident happened on Saturday, January 25 and left their Holden sedan wrapped around a tree.
Speed is thought to be the major instigator in the crash that happened at 7:40PM.
Major collision unit detective Acting Sergeant Brendan Eames-Mayer said police were speaking with witnesses and looking at CCTV footage.
“We’re waiting to speak with the driver when he’s well enough,” Acting Sgt Eames-Mayer said.
He said police were looking for anyone with information on the crash to come forward.
