A Melbourne school has taken the extraordinary step of placing a unique ban on Valentine’s Day.

Bacchus Marsh Grammar banned gift deliveries to the school for today only.

“Please note that the school will not be accepting gifts, flowers or cards for students on Valentine’s Day,” principal Andrew Neal told students.

While it may seem a bit grinchy, it does make a bit of sense from an OH&S and logistics standpoint as schools have struggled in the past to deal with the massive influx of unauthorised people on school property.

While it’s unsure whether the ban extended to staff as well, it’s clear some of the young lovebirds will have to wait until after school to get their roses.
