A Hawthorn Telstra store has fallen victim to a string of ‘swarming’ thefts.
Glenferrie Road Telstra Store manager Nathan Shields has told the Herald Sun that the telco is now telling its staff to ‘let them take it’ rather than confronting the thugs.
Five young men stormed the store on October 11, ripping phones from their displays, in front of customers and staff.
The attack only lasted a few seconds but over $6,000 worth of stock was taken.
Security has since been stepped up and no expensive phones are on display.
