A man has been left with a serious injury after his car collided with a tree while allegedly drag racing in Melbourne’s north.

The Age is reporting that a silver Hyundai sedan and a blue Holden Commodore station wagon were racing each other along Childs Road in Mill Park about 12.15am on Tuesday.

The Hyundai hit a tree at Morang Drive and the driver suffered serious leg injuries.

His female passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
