A severe smoke warning has been issued for Broadmeadows, Pascoe Vale and Coburg.

Huge plumes of black smoke are billowing out and anyone in these suburbs must take shelter indoors immediately.

The factory that went up in flames is listed to Bradbury industrial Services which states on its website it is a “trusted, EPA licensed provider for safe disposal of hazardous goods”.

But their license was suspended on March 21 after the Environmental Protection Agency found it was inadequately storing toxic and chemical waste.

That means there is a very real chance the smoke is toxic.
