Two hot air balloons have crashed at Wantirna South just before 8am according to a CFA spokeswoman.

The first balloon landed into peak hour traffic at the intersection of High Street Rd and Eastlink.

Photos from Twitter appear to indicate one of the hot air balloons has Nova 100 branding.

MFB and CFA fire crews were on their way just after 8am.

Last year, a hot air balloon caught fire in the Yarra Valley on Boxing Day before crash-landing in a nearby field.

MORE TO COME.
