A stack of people have been busted for trying to rip-off footy fans during the finals series.

Twenty-three infringement notices totalling almost $19,000 were dished out to scalpers, including 11 who were pinged $826 each for trying to illegally sell seats to the Grand Final.

Meanwhile, dozens of online tickets were removed because they were priced too high. State laws dictate that finals seats can’t exceed face value by more than 10%.

Among them, 76 online listings for Richmond v Greater Western Sydney premiership decider tickets.

From secondary online sites, 159 finals ticket listings were stripped.

One scalper tried to sell two Grand Final tickets with a face value of $844 for $4000 on eBay and a single seat worth $185 for $1234 on Gumtree, the Herald Sun reported.

People are reminded to only buy tickets through official sites and avoid secondary resellers.
