Three people have tested positive to coronavirus in connection to the Holiday Inn Melbourne Airport Outbreak.
The Department of Health confirmed the first two cases just after 1PM on Thursday afternoon. Both individuals are spouses of hotel quarantine staff at the Holiday Inn.
The third case worked as an assistant manager at the Holiday Inn. She tested for coronavirus yesterday and returned a positive test late Thursday afternoon.
Interviews are currently underway with the three new cases.
There is currently no available information on exposure sites but Victorian Testing Commander Jeroen Weimer said it would be available later today.
“We are alert but not alarmed, we are right on top of this,” Weimer said.
There are currently 400-500 connected to the cluster.
There are now 11 cases connected to the Holiday Inn outbreak, with authorities under the assumption all are carrying the UK strain of coronavirus.
