Aggravated burglaries are at a 10-year high in Melbourne’s inner-east.
The state government released the 2019 crime stats on Thursday, which shows a 2.6 per cent rise in cases.
The data shows that the increase has been driven by a rise in property crime, mainly including thefts from cars and bike thefts.
Home burglaries have reached a high in suburbs including Malvern East and Glen Iris in the city’s inner-east, Brighton and Bentleigh in the south-east, as well as Southbank and Fitzroy North.
