PARTS OF THE CBD WILL BE SHUT DOWN FOR THE NEXT FEW HOURS.

The annual rally for NAIDOC Week is planned and will start at 10:30am at the Victorian Aboriginal Health Service on Nicholson Street in Fitzroy and finish at Federation Square.

“NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples,” according to organisers.

This year’s theme acknowledges that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have always wanted an enhanced role in decision-making in Australia’s democracy.
