Wild weather is on the way for Melbourne and the rest of Victoria.
A cold front’s sweeping through Australia’s southeast and the Bureau of Meteorology is predicting blustery winds and “some quite intense showers” in Melbourne between 4 and 6pm.
Thunderstorm activity could be on the way for the capital’s outer south-eastern suburbs.
The BOM has also issued a severe weather warning for coastal and alpine areas of Victoria:
“Damaging winds, averaging 60 to 70 km/h with peak gusts of 90 to 100 km/h are possible around coastal parts of Victoria Wednesday afternoon and evening most likely associated with the passage of the cold front. Winds of similar magnitudes are also likely to develop over Alpine areas (above 1200 metres) of eastern Victoria during Wednesday afternoon.”
