For a long time now we’ve been using Uber to get around, hiring a driver straight from our phone to take us from A to B.

But now it seems like we’ll be able to hire an actual a car through the app in order to drive ourselves around in our own private vehicle.

In a world first, Uber has launched a new feature called Uber Rent, which allows users to rent a car directly through the app.

The new feature has been launched as a way to help get people back on the roads and boost domestic tourism as state restrictions start to ease.

You’ll also get rewarded for using the new feature, getting 10% of the cost back in Uber Credits on your first rental, as well as earning Uer Rewards points for all other rental trips.

At the moment, Uber Rent is in a trial period, meaning that it’s not available for everyone. At the moment it’s only available for 50% of regular Uber riders in Sydney, Melbourne, the Gold Coast, Perth and Adelaide.

Just update your Uber app to see if you’ve got the Uber Rent option, select ‘Rentals’, enter your pickup location and rental date, and then book the car that best suits you!

So if you’re craving a road trip now that we can move around the state again, but you don’t have a car to travel in, Uber has now got your back!
