Five Victorian tourist attractions have closed immediately on the advice of the Chief Health Officer.

The Twelve Apostles visitor centre and lookouts, the St Kilda Pier penguin viewing platform and the 1000 steps in the Dandenong Ranges have all closed.

Also closed are the Dandenong Ranges Botanic Garden at Olinda and the William Ricketts Sanctuary at Mt Dandenong.

Parks Victoria chief executive Matthew Jackson said “These are unprecedented and challenging times, and it’s important for us to all do our bit to implement the advice of health officials and authorities.’’

The Mackenzie Falls in the Grampians National Park will also close from March 28.
