Contact tracers in NSW are hunting down passengers who boarded a Jetstar flight from Melbourne to Sydney after a passenger tested positive to coronavirus.

47 passengers onboard flight JQ510, who were granted permits to travel interstate, did not undergo mandatory quarantine.

Those who are deemed close contacts have been told to immediately isolate for 14 days and stay isolated regardless of the results of their coronavirus test.

The Jetstar flight left Melbourne for Sydney at 11am on September 27.
