Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has confirmed on Wednesday morning that the state will open its borders to Victoria from December 1.

The decision was made after Victoria officially hit the target of 26 days of no community transmission.

The border will also open to the rest of New South Wales on the same day.

Palaszczuk said on breakfast TV that Queensland is the “best place” to spend Christmas holidays and has welcomed all tourists to visit.
