Melbourne’s Chadstone and Northland shopping centres have moved to scrap late-night trading as Australia battles with the Coronavirus pandemic.

Dozens of companies have already closed stores, including Myer, Cotton On, Witchery and Country Road.

Cinemas gave already been forced to close by government restrictions on indoor gathering but food courts have remained open for takeaway.

From Tuesday, March 31, the centres – managed by The Vicinity Group – will be open from 10am to 5pm for the foreseeable future.

Supermarkets will continue to trade as normal.

Emporium in Melbourne’s CBD has also moved to shorten its hours and will now only open between 10AM and 4PM.
