Melbourne’s home auction market had a huge weekend, recording it’s highest clearance rate for the year.
82% of the houses on the market sold which is the highest result on a non-holiday Saturday sale day reported since 2010.
Additionally, 1092 homes went under the hammer, which is nearly double the number of last weekends, at 562.
The city’s outer east sold very well and the area continues to drive the market upwards.
Sales reported at the weekend included a three-bedroom home at 400 Beach Road, Beaumaris, selling for $2.83 million by Buxton, a four-bedroom home at 15 Kildare Street, Hawthorn East, selling for $2,800,000 by Marshall White, another four-bedroom home at 63 Rushall Cresxent Fitzroy North, sold by Nelson Alexander for $2.25 million and a four-bedroom home at 3 Westfield Drive, Doncaster sold by Jellis Craig for $2,225,000.
The Melbourne weekend home auction market will take another breather next weekend as the nation pauses to solemnly reflect on the centenary of Anzac Day.
Sydney also had their highest clearance rate ever at 88.2%.
