Data which shows which Melbourne suburbs were worst hit by job losses due to the coronavirus outbreak has been released.

In the numbers obtained by 7News, it was learnt that the Melbourne CBD was the hardest hit with 5,224 jobs lost.

Inner-city suburbs Richmond, Brunswick and St Kilda were highly impacted.

  2. Richmond: 3,391
  3. Brunswick; 3,146
  4. St Kilda: 2,959
  5. Essendon/Aberfeldie: 2,753
  6. Sunbury: 2,489
