Another Melbourne school has been forced to close its doors after one of its student tested positive to COVID-19.

Emmanuel College’s St Pauls Campus in Altona North will now be closed to all staff and teachers as cleaning takes place and health authorities conduct contact tracing.

Despite currently enjoying school holidays, students who attended the campus have been asked to self-isolate at home.

The news comes following confirmation from the state’s chief public health officer Brett Sutton that Melbourne had recorded its first case of student-to-student transmission of the virus.

Yesterday, schools in Albanvale, Truganina and Sunbury were linked to new cases of the coronavirus, while four other schools saw new cases earlier this week.
