Woolworths has been forced to cancel it ‘essentials pack’ that is was creating for elderly people who are struggling to buy supplies during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The supermarket announced earlier this week that it intended to create the packs to allow our older generation to obtain supplies.

In a statement, Woolworths said “Unfortunately, due to the continued high demand, stock availability in our stores, and to avoid any disappointment, this is something that we will not be able to fulfil at this time,” Woolworths said in a statement.

Supermarkets have struggled to keep stocks filled due to the demand and panic buying around COVID-19 but rushed to assure Australians there is enough food and stock to go around.
