Avocados are unquestionably one of the best and most versatile fruits out there. 

In a salad? Guacamole? Smoothie? On Toast? Yes please! 

But there is nothing worse than when you have your sights set on that avocado-y goodness, only to find its hard as a rock. 

Never again. 

We have stumbled across the best hack ever. 

All it involves is an avocado, a baking sheet, tin foil and an oven. 


1. Wrap the avo up in the tinfoil – similar to a jacket potato. 

2. Gently place it on a tray with baking paper. 

3. Pre-heat the oven to 200 degrees Fahrenheit (approx 90 degrees Celcius) and wait ten minutes. 

4. Remove the avo and place in the fridge for a few minutes to cool down.

The technique ultimately works by speeding up the ethylene gas reaction that ultimately ripens the fruit.
