A South American restaurant has been accused of sexism and has been ordered to pay a $90,000 fine.

The restaurant was fined for its practice of giving women a different menu to men.

In an investigation, it was found that women who are visiting the restaurant with a man were given a gold menu without prices for the fish ceviche or other expensive dishes.

However, men were served a blue menu with all the pricing details avaliable.

The La Rose Nautica have not commented about the claims or the fine but the Defence of Free Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property said the women should have “access to the same list of dishes with prices included”.

The resturant has now been ordered to offer the same menu to both genders.
