A woman who fell over a tyre at a fitness bootcamp is suing her fitness trainers.
Kathleen McLaren, 55, has launched action against Melbourne fitness company Body Revival Health and Fitness after she tripped over the object, which was on the ground as a corner point, during a workout session.
The nurse sustained a “serious injury” when she fell over the tyre during a session last July, injuring both of her elbows and since suffering psychological injuries including stress, anxiety and depression.
Ms McLaren is seeking damages for loss of earnings, as she was unable to work due to her injuries, and accuses the fitness instructors of “gross negligence” by failing to clear the area of “hazards” such as the tyre.
There has been no comment from Body Revival Health and Fitness.
