When she won the Favorite Villain gong at the Kids Choice Awards on the weekend, Angelina Jolie gave a moving speech about how it’s good to be different.
Now, chatter is circulating about whether she was referring to her eight-year-old child, John.
In her inspiring speech, Angelina talked about how she was different as a child, and how she came to realise that was a good thing.
“I want to say when I was little, like Maleficent, I was told that I was different. I felt out of place,” she said.
“Too loud, too full of fire, never good at sitting still, never good at fitting in. And then one day I realised something – something I hope you all realise. Different is good. When someone tells you that you are different, smile and hold your head up and be proud.”
Born a girl named Shiloh, John made headlines earlier this year when it was reported that they self-identified as a boy and wished to be renamed.
Their parents have been extremely supportive in the public eye of their decision, and celebrities like Amber Rose have also voiced support.
