Christian and his family have officially arrived to our beautiful city, so we’ve put together a list of the most MELBOURNE activities ever for them to discover!
Plus, there’ll be HEAPS of places to look for those new handbags…
Yesterday my daughters made me take them shopping. In the humidity of Singapore. Searching for handbags. We got none but two phone covers. In 3hrs. They broke me pic.twitter.com/V3KkXNLSZ7

Obviously no weekend in Melbourne can start without a brunch – so first things first, get yourselves to a café stat and fuel your bodies for a big day!
It’s winter in Melbourne, and that means one thing – FOOTY! So scan the AFL website and figure out which game you’ll be heading to.
Next up, it’s time to see this fine city. One of the best ways to do that is by bike! Check out Melbourne By Bike, for a lovely guided tour of some of Melbourne’s secrets and history.
The sun will be out to play this weekend, so lap it up! A free discovery tour of the Royal Botanic Gardens sounds good to us! There’s one twice a day – get all the information here.

Flowering Friday this week is the eye catching Eucalyptus alatissima. With distinctive decorative ‘wings’ of the flower bud, this variable shrub or small tree grows between 1.5 and 8 metres tall and occurs naturally on rocky rises and sand plains of central WA, north of Kalgoorlie. It can be found on Howson Hill, in the Australian Garden. #royalbotanicgardensvic #cranbourne #eucalyptus #wings
Don’t forget to have some down time too – why not enjoy a drink or two, and a classic pub meal at one of our OLDEST pubs! Head to The Mitre Tavern for a cosy table.
If you’re after something sweet to wash down your meal, then you’re in luck. Head to Haigh’s Chocolates, one of Australia’s most loved chocolate brands, and pick some favourites. Plus, if you’re nice they will treat you to some free samples!!
Otherwise (or afterwards) head to Gelateria Primavera at the top of the city, for some delectable frozen goodness. You can admire Melbourne’s Parliament House while your at it! If you are keen, head inside, as they do weekend tours!
We just know you’ll love our city!
