Another tragic night on Melbourne’s roads with two separate crashes seeing three lives lost.

Both driver and passenger perished in a north-bound crash on the Nepean Highway at Mount Eliza at around 11pm.

The driver of the second vehicle was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

And in Red Cliffs, a car with three men in their 20s crashed into a pole. One of the passengers died at the scene and the other two men were hospitalised.

The three deaths take Victoria’s state road toll to 137 – 49 more than the same time last year.
