Are you a bit of a foodie? Do you just LOVE your grub?! Well you’ll probably be pretty interested in the place named best restaurant in Australia, right?!

Sydney restaurant Momofuku Seiobo has been named Australia’s Restaurant of the Year by Gourmet Traveller Magazine.

The nod came at the Gourmet Traveller National Restaurant Awards, announced on Wednesday night. The restaurant is the Aussie branch of David Chang’s original New York restaurant.

“I think Momofuku Seiobo represents an exciting new chapter in Australian dining,” said Gourmet Traveller’s chief food critic Pat Nourse.

“It’s always been a very impressive restaurant and it’s won our top award before [Momofuku took out Restaurant of the Year in 2014].

Paul Charmichael uses flavours that are unfamiliar to us in Australia — they grill craw fish and marron and they make their own roti — just food with delicious flavours all done within a fine dining framework.

“In the end, it’s fun, and going out to a restaurant should be fun,” he said. While it’s not the CHEAPEST option out there, it’s pretty darn reasonable, considering you’re dining at Australia’s BEST restaurant.

Last year the coveted award was won by Neil Perry’s flagship Rockpool restaurant. Momofuku’s tasting menu costs $185 and an extra $105 for matching wines.
