Dannii Minogue has admitted that becoming a mother in 2010 ‘changed everything’ for her but continued to say that she wasn’t the one who wanted them.
The 45-year-old said that it was Kylie Minogue who ‘always wanted kids’, but she has to come to terms with the fact she will never have them following her 2005 breast cancer battle.
Discussing her life before her son Ethan, the pop star told the UK’s Daily Telegraph that Kylie had natural maternal instincts that she was envious of and now loves to watch Kylie with her child.
She said: ‘Growing up it was Kylie who always wanted kids and I never did, When my brother Brendan had his little boy (Charles, now 10) I hadn’t a clue how to hold him. I remember being impressed by Kylie because she just instinctively knew what to do.
‘When he was a bit older, she’d be the one rolling on the floor with him, making him laugh his head off and I’d be thinking: “What do I do?” When I got pregnant, I was completely shocked.
But having a baby everything. Kylie has been incredible with Ethan. She just loves him – I love to see them together.’
Kylie had spoken openly about her baby struggles, admitting to The Sunday Times that she was forced to consider her ‘options’ when it came to having children when she was diagnosed with breast cancer, aged 37.
