The Victorian Government has raised eyebrows after putting forward a plan to heritage list…The Eastern Freeway.

The much-maligned bottleneck would then sit next to the Great Ocean Rd and St Kilda Road as a heritage protected landmark.

Transport Infrastructure Minister Jacinta Allan has admitted the move has less to do with heritage status and is designed to “provide certainty” for the North East Link project.

The decision has been widely criticised by the state opposition.
