Cyber Security teams are warning windows users to ditch Apple Quicktime from their PC’s as soon as possible.

Apple recently stopped shipping security updates for the software and researchers are reporting there are two major security holes in the software that leaves people open to attack.

The two holes are unlikely to be fixed which means that ”unsupported software can mean the increase in likelihood of loss of confidentiality, damage to the systems resources and loss of files” according to the US Computer Emergency Readiness Team.

While the advice may come as surprise for many, Apple has actually been slowly distancing itself from the software since 2013, preferring to spend it’s time working on iTunes instead.

If you wish to uninstall Quicktime, Apple have released instructions here.
