Contestants of ‘The Block’ are reportedly outraged after discovering that Sydney couple Mitch and Mark are professional property flippers.
The “stylish granddads” allegedly have 13 years of renovating experience, compared to the four other contestants who have little to none.
Woman’s Day report that the couple has made a profit of $3.5 million over the years, and even run their own interior design business in Sydney.
“It was a big point of conversation behind the scenes,” a source told the publication.
“The other couples definitively felt it was unfair. The last thing you want to find out is that you’re up against a team who essentially do this for a living.”
The pair have sold 15 properties with budgets ranging from $30,000 to $250,000, despite their official bios stating that they “have no practical building experience, and have never been ‘on the tools’.”
In addition to claims of them having an ‘unfair advantage’, the couple has appeared on a similar reality show in 2017 called ‘Aussie Property Flippers’ on Channel Seven.
They have reportedly applied for My Kitchen Rules, with a source claiming that “Mitch has worked in hospitality for a long time and is very well connected in those circles.”
Do you think the couple has an unfair advantage?
