An online campaign has helped British cancer patient Sarah Flint celebrate her dream wedding.
Sarah, 28, was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2013 and has beat it twice, before having it return in January this year – and being told that this time, it’s terminal.
Close friends of Sarah and her partner, Kris, decided that they’d do everything in their power to give their mates the wedding of their dreams.
Four of Sarah’s school friends set up a Go Fund Me page to seek help from across the world – and strangers delivered, donating over $8000.
Sarah and Kris were married in Surrey in February, and all they had to pay for was the wedding dress, bridesmaids’ dresses and groomsmen’s suits – everything else was covered.
They plan to use the remaining funds to go on a honeymoon with their five children to Disneyland in Paris.
Sarah had no idea her friends were planning all of this for her, until they told her they’d set the date for her wedding.
“I’m overwhelmed by people’s kindness, some of whom I’ve never even met,” she told Metro.
The day was very emotional. It was mind-blowing, especially for us and the family… We never thought something like this could happen.”
