The 1990 flick Pretty Woman captivated the hearts of everyone, with the story of prostitute Vivian who is picked up by a rich businessman.
It was originally planned as a dark drama but made the transition to romantic comedy with Julia Roberts as the leading lady.
Julia Roberts played Vivian Ward, and was only 21 when she took the role. It was offered to Meg Ryan, Michelle Pfeiffer and Molly Ringwald who all turned it down.
Now she’s a Hollywood heavyweight, snagging roles in Erin Brockovich (for which she won an Oscar), My Best Friend’s Wedding and Eat Pray Love.
More recently she appeared alongside Meryl Streep in August: Osage County.
Richard Gere played Edward Lewis, the wealthy businessman who picks up Vivian to be his escort for a week, when feelings develop.
Gere starred in An Officer And A Gentleman, and reunited with Roberts in Runaway Bride.
He won a Golden Globe in 2002 for his role in Chicago.
Jason Alexander played Philip Stuckey, Edward’s lawyer and had a longstanding role on Seinfeld.
He’s appeared on Community, Two And A Half Men, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Heat.
Laura San Giacomo played Kit De Luca, Vivian’s roommate and fellow prostitute.
She went on to star in Just Shoot Me and Saving Grace, more recently she had a role in The Mentalist and Hot in Cleveland.
Alex Hyde-White played David Morse, the grandson of John Morse, whose company Edward wished to purchase and dismantle.
He previously appeared in Battlestar Galactica, and Catch Me If You Can. He now runs his own film production company, TMG, which produced Three Days Of Hamlet and Pursuit of Happiness (not to be confused with the Will Smith film).
Amy Yasbeck played Elizabeth Stuckey, Philip’s snobby wife.
She was known for her roles on Dallas, Days Of Our Lives and Magnum P.I, but has appeared in Robin Hood: Men In Tights.
After her husband’s death in 2003, she hasn’t done much acting.
Hector Elizondo played Barney Thompson, the hotel manager who helps Vivian learn proper manners.
He appeared in The Princess Diaries and more recently New Year’s Eve.
