Serena Williams has caused another stir in tennis circles after debuting her latest look at the US Open.

After wearing an eyecatching black tutu dress for her first round clash, Serena then wore a powder blue version of the tutu for her second round match.

Opinion is divided over the ballerina look following on from the infamous catsuit she wore for the French Open which was later banned for future years.

The 23-time grand slam singles champ wore the stunning black outfit in Paris earlier this year but French Tennis Federation president Bernard Giudicelli told Tennis magazine it was now banned.

“It will no longer be accepted. One must respect the game and the place,” he said.

However it’s believed Williams wore the catsuit partly to help prevent potentially fatal blood clots which she has suffered from after her pregnancy.

Tennis fans went into meltdown when she debuted her black tutu with many believing it was a response to the catsuit ban.

However Serena had already announced plans to wear the tutu in Flushing Meadows before the controversial ban on her French Open outfit.
